It is indeed a great pleasure and honor to write this message for the souvenir of World Congress of Clinical Anatomists – SOCA 2023 (11th Annual Conference of Society of Clinical Anatomists) organized by Department of Anatomy, Dayanand Medical College and Hospital, Ludhiana, Punjab from 3rd to 4th Feb, 2023 and Preconference workshop on 2nd Feb 2023.
Society of Clinical Anatomists has made rapid strides in recent years. The life membership number has increased enormously. The National Journal of Clinical Anatomy run by the society has been successful. It provides opportunity for the young generation and senior anatomists to work together and promotes interaction between anatomists and clinicians.
Conferences and CMEs are the first steps to update knowledge. Though the web world provides all the medical updates, it is always a pleasure to attend conferences, meet friends and colleagues and update knowledge in person. I am sure World Congress of Clinical Anatomists SOCA – 2023 would help the delegates to enrich their knowledge in living anatomy and exchange their academic experience with others.
I extend a hearty welcome to distinguished speakers from India and abroad, chairpersons, delegates and wish the organizing team under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Hitant Vohra, Organizing Secretary of the conference for their sincere efforts and involvement in organizing this conference. May the Almighty be with them throughout and bless them to march towards great success.

It is second time that SOCA’s Conference is being organized at Punjab. That shows the enthusiasm of Clinical Anatomists at Punjab to work along with SOCA. This time it is World Congress of Clinical Anatomists (second International Conference of SOCA) with involvement of foreign Anatomists to expose our own Clinical Anatomists to their ways of thinking on the Theme of Research in Anatomical Sciences.
I thank the Management and Principal of Dayanand Medical College for permitting SOCA to conduct this Conference by utilizing their facilities.

I am very much delighted and pleased to know that Dayanand Medical College (DMC) and Hospital, Ludhiana is hosting “World Congress of Clinical Anatomists” – 11th Annual Meeting of the Society of clinical anatomists. As an Editor-in Chief of National Journal of Clinical Anatomy, (An official publication of the Society of Clinical Anatomists) it is indeed a matter of great pride to pen down few lines for the conference.
Teaching and research are essential pillars of Anatomical Sciences. Research in Anatomy is witnessing paradigm shift from gross to molecular level. In this current situation the theme for this event – “Research in Anatomical Sciences” has been rightly chosen, which will highlight the importance and challenges in anatomical research.
The evidence-based anatomy approach would have positive ramifications for the future conservation of anatomical sciences as a cornerstone basic sciences, for comprehensive information on anatomical variations, and for the safety of clinical practice. Sessions by eminent National and International speakers will be a salutary academic fete for the delegates. Under the able guidance and leadership of Prof. Hitant Vohra and Prof. Anu Sharma and her dynamic team, I am sure that the conference will set a new bench mark for the future organizers. Heartiest congratulations and best wishes to the team of DMC for its grand success.
I request all the Clinical Anatomists of the country and abroad to register, participate and enjoy the academic feast.
